Team Building/Challenge Workout: 
Speak Out Style

In a series of customized, fast-paced sessions,
participants will acquire skills to help them: 

  • Identify and take advantage of each team member's communication style
  • Minimize conflict
  • Create a more positive working relationship
  • Understand individual motivating factors & differences
  • Pull together to work as a group
  • Stimulate innovative problem-solving activities within the group they lead or with whom they interact

A. Introduction to Behavioral/Communication Styles. 

Participants will be asked to complete two analysis forms prior to attending the session. These include a Communication Style Analysis and a Personal Interests, Attitudes and Values profile. The first takes 10 minutes maximum to complete, and the second about 5- 7 minutes.

The goal of this session is two-fold:

To provide management tools for more effective communication, delegation, guidance and matching of assignments to the right person.

To give the team's members problem-solving skills for quickly resolving issues that affect productivity and well being.

What They'll Get

Each participant will receive a 19-page personalized analysis of his or her communication strengths, motivation strategies, unique characteristics and strategies for improvement. Additionally, each will get a 12-page analysis of his/her major personal motivators as they apply to the workplace.

Role-playing techniques will help participants apply their new understanding of communication styles to their daily work situation.

B. Conflict Resolution Strategies and Advanced
Challenge Workout/Problem-Solving 

Based on the feedback from participants' journals, the group will be led through g conflict resolution exercises and communication techniques. The problem-solving discussion will be continued and further assignments made as needed.

Participants will receive their Personal Interests, Attitudes and Values profile report, and will learn its relationship to their communication style and working as part of a team. It is recommended that periodic follow-up refresher programs be conducted, at least quarterly, to reinforce this training.
